After a few weeks of rejection I finally have some exciting news!
It turned out that most social enterprise companies are super busy and the months before Christmas aren't ideal for making a documentary as sales ramp up and things get full on (something to remember in the future!)
However, after feeling very dejected and uncertain about where this documentary was headed, a series of very FORTUNATE events led to a breakthrough!
I have been offered the opportunity to go to INDIA!!
I have never been to India before so this is a huge deal in so many ways for me. Initially, I was unsure. This is my first documentary on my own; in India I wouldn't be able to take anyone with me for a second opinion or even go back to re-film if something didn't work out!
However I am a huge believer in taking opportunities as they come and this really seems like a once in a life time experience!
I will be travelling to a charity based in Bangalore called Baale Mane that rescues girls that have been sold into domestic service and raises them as their own, giving them an education, a family and skills to help them turn into strong young women!
Not quite a social enterprise but a story worth telling none the less!
I am so excited to have been given this opportunity and can't wait to get there!
